PowerStream CEO Named to 2016 'Canada's Clean50' List

Brian Bentz Earns Recognition for Advancing the Cause of Sustainability

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - September 22, 2015) - Brian Bentz, President and CEO of PowerStream, has been named one of 'Canada's Clean50' champions for 2016, in recognition of his leadership in advancing the cause of sustainability in Canada over the past two years.

In an announcement made by the Delta Management Group on Tuesday, the organization acknowledged the outstanding performance, leadership and commitment both he and PowerStream demonstrated in the area of environmentally-responsible energy. Bentz's leadership on environmental matters also earned him the designation 'Clean16' honouree as the top Clean50 contributor in the 'Traditional Power Generation' category.

Bentz's selection as a Clean50 champion and Clean16 honouree was the result of PowerStream being known as a Canadian industry leader in the development, installation and maintenance of nearly 100 rooftop solar generation facilities; for advancing the use of smart grid and micro grid technologies while being able to reduce energy consumption within the utility's service territory through the delivery of conservation and demand management programs to customers.

PowerStream's success in developing several employee environmental programs including specialty recycling and waste diversion, carpooling, vanpooling and participation in annual Smart Commute events such as Bike to Work Day, were also cited as reasons for Bentz being named to the two lists.

  • "Brian Bentz was chosen after rigorous screening and research by Delta Management, with advice from internal researchers and external advisors, and was among honourees selected from an initial pool of over 550 well qualified nominees," explained Gavin Pitchford, Chief Talent Officer, Delta Management Group.
