Powertrain Technology Division Acquired by A&D Technology, Inc.

ANN ARBOR, Mich.--(CCNMatthews - Aug 8, 2005) -

A&D Technology, Inc., a manufacturer of advanced measuring, monitoring, controlling and testing instruments, has acquired the Powertrain Technology Division of MTS Systems Corporation. The announcement was made today by Hikaru Furukawa, President and CEO of A&D Co., Ltd., parent company of A&D Technology, Inc. Details of the transaction were not disclosed.

With more than 1,500 installations worldwide, the Powertrain Technology Division is the world's leading provider of powertrain testing solutions to a variety of industries, including automotive, off-highway, small engines, diesel, fuels and lubricants, and motorsports. The Division is located in Ann Arbor.

"This acquisition is a definitive step in expanding our presence in the powertrain development industry, a natural extension of our core competency in digital signal processing (DSP) technology," said Furukawa.
