NUREMBERG, GERMANY--(Marketwired - Feb 19, 2014) -

  • Huge potential for bulk goods and technologies in Russia
  • High demand by exhibitors
  • Russian markets for bulk goods on a growth path

The Russian economy is continuing on its growth path in the area of bulk goods and their technologies. For foreign companies this means that the business activity vectors are shifting: away from the pure sale of finished import products towards assembly or complete production on site. To accelerate this development, the Russian Ministry for Industry and Trade and the Russian Ministry for Economic Development are promoting the transfer of technology and the establishment of international production companies as part of their industrial policy.

POWX2014 on track
"The improved conditions on the Russian market is resulting in increased demand by foreign companies wanting to establish a foothold in Russia and expand their business model. We are noticing this in the sale of our floorspace and the processing of requests," explains Bernd D. Fichtner, Managing Director of the international Bulk Powder Expo POWX2014.

Growth sectors in Russia -- Example: chemicals industry
The chemicals industry increased its production by 4.1% in 2013. In particular, business in plastics, rubber and lacquers was very positive. The petrochemicals division is also growing. Billions are being spent upgrading existing and establishing new refineries. Progress is also expected in the expansion of the natural gas liquefaction sector with new plants on the northern Yamal Peninsula and in the Far East. Building chemical products are also in high demand. Imports can also be successfully substituted in this sector. The preparations for the football World Cup 2018 in eleven host cities is also adding to regional demand for more capacities for building chemicals.
