NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Mar 7, 2012) - To help lawyers get up to speed on the legal and practical issues involved when negotiating agreements between ERISA plan fiduciaries and their service providers, Practical Law Company (PLC), a provider of practical legal know-how to law firms, law departments and law schools, will host a free webinar, "A Practical Guide to Negotiating ERISA Service Provider Agreements" on March 22, 2012 at 1:00PM ET (10:00AM PT). The 60-minute webinar will provide negotiating tips from industry experts, including an analysis of the most heavily negotiated provisions in ERISA agreements. It will also address the impact of recently enacted fee and expense regulations and have a question and answer session.

During the presentation, Heidi Winzeler, head of PLC's Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation service and Andrew L. Oringer, a partner with Ropes & Gray LLP, will moderate a discussion with Paul M. Hamburger, a partner at Proskauer Rose LLP and Sarah E. Downie, a partner at Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP. The panelists will discuss the negotiation of service provider agreements from both the plan sponsor and service provider perspectives, including ERISA fiduciary obligations and indemnification and liability of limitation provisions.

"Selecting an ERISA plan service provider requires close review of the appropriate scope of services and allocation of responsibilities," explained Ms. Winzeler. "Our speakers are actively engaged in counseling their clients on employee benefit plans and programs, benefits-related tax matters and fiduciary issues arising in connection with the investment of employee benefit plan assets. We are fortunate to have them share their insights and practical guidance during this webinar."
