LONGUEUIL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 7, 2006) - The 5,000 employees of Pratt & Whitney Canada Corp. (P&WC), a United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX) company, have contributed more than $1 million to the Centraide of Greater Montreal campaign for the second consecutive year.

"These employees in Quebec have once again demonstrated their remarkable generosity and have maintained our proud 26-year tradition of supporting Centraide," said John Saabas, Executive Vice President of P&WC.

Saabas presented a cheque for $1,005,111 to Michele Thibodeau-DeGuire, President and Executive Director of Centraide, at a ceremony yesterday.

Last year, P&WC employees contributed $1,003,098 to Centraide of Greater Montreal. This year's results beat the $925,000 target by more than 8 percent, with an average contribution per employee of $242 and participation rate of 73 percent. A record 213 "leader" donors (those who contributed $1,000 or more) took part in this year's campaign.

Jacques Gerin, director of P&WC's Centraide campaign, said the many fundraising activities organized this year proved to be very popular with employees. "The traditional spaghetti lunch, talent show and special draws were a big hit and helped generate a lot of awareness about the good work Centraide does for our community," he said. "Our employees really responded with open hearts and we are all proud of this remarkable achievement."
