Pratt & Whitney Canada PW535B to Power New Cessna Citation Encore+

NBAA, ORLANDO, FLORIDA--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 9, 2005) - Pratt & Whitney Canada Corp. (P&WC), a United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX) company, confirmed today that PW535B engines will power Cessna Aircraft Company's new Citation Encore+, the successor aircraft to the popular mid-sized Citation Encore business jet.

The PW535B engine, rated at 3,400 pounds of thrust, which shares an architecture similar to the Citation Encore's PW535A engine, is now equipped with dual-channel Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC).

"The PW535B is designed to fully support Cessna's objectives of offering Encore+ operators exceptional quality and superior value," said Alain M. Bellemare, President, P&WC. "We are pleased to be powering this latest product offering from Cessna."

The PW535B will be the sixth model in the PW500 family - five of which power Cessna aircraft. The family has made significant inroads in the corporate aircraft market, accumulating more than 2.8 million operating hours on over 850 aircraft with 540 operators in 50 countries.

Cessna announced that the Encore+ will offer customers increased efficiency, a new integrated avionics suite, increased payload capability, and improved cabin lighting.
