Precision Color Graphics Reinvents Packaging Through Patented Green Technology

FRANKLIN, WI--(Marketwired - Jun 7, 2013) - Precision Color Graphics, an industry leading pre-press, printing and packaging company, received a patent for their bipolymer lined multi-layer bags and pouches for their line of Ecoterah™ packaging.

The patent, #8,387,797, ensures Precision Color Graphic's Ecoterah packaging is comprised of at least one paper layer, the paper layers being biodegradable and a sheet of film adherent to one of said layers, with said film sheet being leak-proof and biodegradable.

This revolutionary new line of earth-friendly packaging, made from US based renewable plant resources, also earned the Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI) certification. This certification assures the packaging meets ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) D6868 and D6400 standards. PCG's Ecoterah products are the first multi-layer retail packaging to earn this certification in all of the U.S., Canada, Europe and Japan.

"The Ecoterah packaging is FDA human-grade compliant and has been fully implemented and is currently used for pet food, pet treats and potato chips. Pouches holding nuts, granola, coffee, powdered drinks and hops are in trials now," noted Dan Brulz, Vice President of Precision Color Graphics.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is recognizing Precision's commitment and ongoing efforts to employ sustainable business practices by inviting them to become a Green Tier Program Member.
