Precision Software Joins Descartes' Global Logistics Network

WATERLOO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 5, 2005) -

Precision's customers gain access to the more than 2,000 transportation and logistics providers connected to Descartes' Global Logistics Network

The Descartes Systems Group Inc. (NASDAQ:DSGX)(TSX:DSG), a leading provider of on-demand delivery management solutions and services for transportation, logistics, manufacturing, retail and distribution enterprises, today announced that Precision Software, a global trade logistics provider, has joined Descartes' Global Logistics Network ("GLN"). Precision Software's customers will be able to exchange and access electronic shipment information with the more than 2,000 transportation and logistics providers participating on the GLN.

The GLN is one of the world's largest networks for the exchange of electronic shipment information with more than 1,600 ground carriers, 450 third party logistics/freight forwarder organizations, 30 ocean carriers and 85 air carriers. Using the GLN, Precision Software customers can access data relating to the status, milestones and arrival dates of shipments; exchange this information with the GLN's participating transportation and logistics providers; and can use Precision Software's TRAXi3 Track and Trace tool to get visibility into the status and movements of shipments.

"Customers want to know the location of their goods, and shippers must deliver this information quickly and accurately," said Robert Campbell, Chief Marketing Officer for Precision Software. "Descartes' GLN provides electronic messaging capabilities that can automatically process incoming status messages and update Precision Software's TRAXi3 database. With Descartes, TRAXi3 customers will no longer have to manually check websites, send e-mails or place calls to carriers or freight forwarders to check on shipment status."

"Precision Software is a recognized leader in global trade logistics and we are pleased they have joined the GLN and given us the opportunity to provide additional value to TRAXi3 customers," said Edward Ryan, Descartes' General Manager, Global Logistics Network. "The combination of the GLN and TRAXi3 will help give companies around-the-clock visibility into the status of their shipments by specific shipment, product, order number, batch, lot or serial number."
