Prelco Inc. Bolsters Performance with Financial Support from the Government of Canada


RIVIÈRE-DU-LOUP, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Feb. 11, 2015) - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that the firm Prelco Inc. has been granted financial assistance to improve its performance. The project, already under way, is aimed at increasing the Rivière-du-Loup enterprise's productivity and manufacturing capacity.

This support was awarded in the form of a $1,544,750 repayable financial contribution through CED's Quebec Economic Development Program.

Quick facts

  • Prelco Inc. is a leading manufacturer of innovative glass products intended mainly for the following markets: architectural (commercial, industrial and residential buildings), transportation (rail, maritime, ground) and military.
  • The project being funded by CED is part of a large-scale growth initiative undertaken by the company to expand its existing factory, renovate the premises and acquire and install state-of-the-art equipment and specialty software.
  • Prelco Inc. expects to create some 30 new jobs in the wake of this project.
