Premier Alliance Group, Inc., Awarded Three-Year Technical Coordinator Contract With Southern California Edison

Company to Provide Technical Consulting Services for Commercial Customers of Utility-Wide Automated Demand Response Energy Management Program

CHARLOTTE, NC--(Marketwire - Jul 16, 2012) -   Premier Alliance Group, Inc. (OTCBB: PIMO), a professional services company focused on business and technology advisory and consulting services and solutions, today announced that its Energy Division, GreenHouse (http://premieralliance.com/solutions), was awarded a three-year contract for the Southern California Edison (SCE) RFP establishing Technical Coordinator services for customers enrolled in SCE's Automated Demand Response Program.

Automated Demand Response (Auto-DR) enables customers with automated load control systems, such as Energy Management Systems (EMS), to participate in demand response events without manual intervention. The program's flexibility and ease-of-use allows customers to pre-select their level of participation and to automatically take part in demand response events. GreenHouse engineers will work directly with SCE's customers to identify and evaluate strategies that enable fully automated, safe and reliable participation in a demand response event.

A Technical Coordinator acts as third party oversight for Automated Demand Response (Auto-DR) implementations within SCE's territory. Under the terms of the contract, GreenHouse will provide the following services for SCE's commercial Auto-DR customers through 2014:

  • Verify system design feasibility
  • Coordinate Technology Installation and Implementation Activities
  • Verify System Functionality
  • Provide Corrective Maintenance
  • Provide Auto-DR Technical Customer Support

The California Public Utility Commission ("CPUC") announced on April 19, 2012 the authorization of a $192 million budget for SCE on Demand Response activities. Commissioner Mark J. Ferron stated at that time, "This program has large environmental and systems benefits, which also yields large ratepayer savings."

"This is a great opportunity for growth in our Energy Division and to differentiate ourselves in the utility space by offering turn-key solutions as an option when necessary and appropriate," said Rob Davis, Vice President of Energy Services for Premier Alliance. "We will provide quality control for an important segment of SCE's growing Auto-DR market."
