A Premiere: In Collaboration With JVC, Sensio Unveils a Solution to Broadcast Live 3D Events Using the Current 2D Infrastructure

Unveiling of the SENSIO 3D Live! encoder in Las Vegas, Nevada

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - April 16, 2007) - SENSIO Technologies Inc. ("SENSIO") (TSX VENTURE:SIO), the inventor of the SENSIO® 3D technology, is proud to announce, in collaboration with JVC, one of the world leaders in the field of audio-video equipment development and manufacturing, the introduction of the first complete solution for broadcasting live 3D sporting and cultural events. Thanks to the cutting-edge technology developed by SENSIO, it is now possible to repurpose the current 2D broadcast infrastructure to deliver 3D content.

The new SENSIO 3D Live! encoder simplifies the entire 3D production process. Common technical issues such as image synchronization are now history with this ground-breaking technology. It also boasts unique features like 3D pre-visualization for easy camera alignment. By being compatible with standard 2D equipment, the SENSIO 3D Live! encoder allows producers to easily overlay 3D graphics in real time and even offer instant 3D replays.

During the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show in Las Vegas, from April 14 to 19, SENSIO and JVC will once again combine their technologies, this time to disprove the myth that producing and broadcasting live 3D events is a lengthy, costly and difficult process. "We are excited that ProHD is being used with Sensio's technology to create these cutting-edge 3D broadcasts. This demonstrates how captivating high definition 3D can be," mentioned Mr. Robert Mueller, Executive Vice President and COO of JVC Professional Products Company.

"JVC is a wonderful partner for us to showcase live 3D events. Their new GY-HD250U camcorders, which we use in the demonstration, allow cost-effective 3D production by offering exclusive features within their price range which are essential to High-Definition 3D production like genlocking, interchangeable lenses and direct HD-SDI outputs. The image quality and the SENSIO 3D effect will be displayed in real-time on their exclusive 3D High-Definition Reference Monitor," says Pierre-Hugues Routhier, Vice-President, Creative Services at Sensio.

SENSIO plans to implement live 3D in theaters before the end of 2007. This technology will allow the first commercial live 3D broadcasts of sporting or cultural events. It can also be used by broadcasters to distribute these events in SENSIO 3D through the existing pay television networks for home 3D viewing in the near future. SENSIO 3D is now being actively marketed within the electronic equipment manufacturing industry. Once it is integrated into consumer audio and video devices, everyone will have the opportunity to experience 3D and feel its emotion in the comfort of their living rooms with the same quality they would expect in a state-of-the-art 3D digital theater.

"Concert producers are showing very strong interest, as they recognize the large broadcast potential of this innovation," explains Mr. Nicholas Routhier, President and CEO of SENSIO Technologies Inc. A recent non-broadcast live 3D test conducted by the National Basketball Association in the US proved the strong demand for such special events in 3D. Endorsement of stereoscopy by several major Hollywood studios also shows an undeniable trend towards 3D. This revolution is made possible by the enhanced maturity of the technologies and strong spectator demand.
