Presagis Introduces New UAV and Helicopter Reference Platforms at ITEC 2016

UAS Border Surveillance scenario reveals the realism, power, and versatility of Presagis' M&S Suite 15

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwired - May 17, 2016) - Presagis™ is demonstrating its latest modeling and simulation (M&S) software portfolio, M&S Suite 15, at the International Training and Education Conference (ITEC), Europe's largest show for military training and simulation, taking place May 17 to 19 at the ExCel Centre.

At the conference, Presagis (Booth D-132) will introduce new commercial offerings based on reference platforms that it has developed to address increasing customer demand for open architecture simulators and training devices. A virtual unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) station and a helicopter simulator based on this new architecture approach will be demonstrated. These reference platforms, integrating Presagis' commercial off-the-shelf simulation technology, can be used as advanced start points for customers interested in building their own simulators. Alternatively, Presagis will use the reference platforms to develop training systems that suit the specific needs of each customer.

"When talking to customers, we heard many of them telling us that they didn't have the resources, budgets or skills to build simulation systems from scratch," said Jean-Michel Briere, Presagis' General Manager. "We realized that customers were left with options that either didn't provide the fidelity they desired, couldn't easily be customized, or, quite frankly, were too expensive for what they wanted to do.".

This approach offers a unique alternative to customers who want to focus on specific research areas, concentrate on the development of sub-systems, offer early phase flight curriculum training or even perform mission planning, but don't want to spend millions of dollars buying a high-end training device just to achieve high fidelity.

"Our goal is to continue to evolve these open architecture simulators with the influence of our customers," added Stephane Blondin, Head of Product Management and Marketing at Presagis. "We're applying the approach of continuous software development to the development of systems."

Presagis will also demonstrate the latest enhancements in the Ondulus line of high-fidelity, non-ITAR (International Traffic And Arms) sensor simulators. Ondulus Radar 15 adds MTI and Strip SAR modes as well as enhanced HLA support. In addition, visitors will also have a sneak peek of the upcoming real-time, high-fidelity Ondulus IR.

"Sensor vision is one of the most important advantages in today's battlefield," said Briere. Sensors allow warfighters and intelligence collectors to see further and better than the enemy in reduced visual environments, and sensor training has become an important part of today's simulator requirements."

At ITEC, specialists will showcase their knowledge of the new modeling and simulation software suite, M&S Suite 15. With boosted performance, more realistic marine effects and CIGI support, Vega Prime 15 offers some of the best out-the-window (OTW) image generation capabilities on the market supported by a unique content creation workflow which makes it easier than ever to create planet-wide, multi-domain, structured geographical information systems (GIS) databases thanks to the OpenFlight and Common Database (CDB) open formats.

Creator and Terra Vista 15 users will discover the new unified Material Classification workflow allowing easy sensorization of both 3D models and terrains. In addition, Terra Vista 15 now integrates new procedural generation tools allowing users to quickly build large urban environments.

STAGE 15 offers faster scenario creation and ground navigation enhancements that make it easier than ever to add crowds, traffic and convoys to your Constructive simulations. With robust DIS/HLA support and massive scalability, STAGE is the ideal tool for Joint Training or Distributed Missions Operations.

The latest enhancements of FlightSIM and HeliSIM 15 will be leveraged in two simulators on display on the booth. The helicopter simulator will demonstrate how easy it is to build a range of training devices.

To showcase the real-world benefits for joint operations and homeland security, an unmanned aerial system (UAS) border surveillance scenario will be presented. The demo will feature a Ground Control Station, EO (Electro optical), IR (Infrared) and Radar sensor simulation, a virtual UAV simulation, and Artificial Intelligence-supported Mission and Computer Generated Forces. The storyline will revolve around the U.S. Marshals, Coast Guard, and Customs & Border Protection agents as they enforce surveillance of their jurisdictions.
