President and CEO of Canadian Electricity Association to Address Economic Club

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 12, 2011) - Electricity is essential to our lives - our homes, businesses and industries depend on it. The electricity grid that serves us so well was built for a population of about 20 million. But today it is servicing around 35 million. Canada must now make some decisions about how to improve the existing electricity grid. The desire to address the effects of climate change, and meeting the needs of a changing economy, are driving much of the conversation about our electricity future. Pierre Guimond will discuss how the electricity sector is being limited by a lack of infrastructure investment at a time when it is being asked to take on a greater mandate, and how Ontario's plans for meeting future electricity needs can be an investment for future generations.
