President of South Korea to Receive 21-Gun Salute

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Sept. 19, 2014) - A 21-gun salute will be fired to welcome the President of South Korea at Rideau Hall. The firing is scheduled to commence at 4:00 p.m. September 21, 2014.

Four 105-mm C3 howitzers from 30th Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery will be positioned at Rideau Hall for the firing. Each gun will fire a blank round, in succession with a standard interval of 10-seconds. Residents are advised that this salute is purely ceremonial in nature and that at no time will their safety or security be in jeopardy. Local residents may be alerted by the loud noise caused by the firing.
