Presidential Recognition Awarded to Stanbridge College Community Service Efforts for Fifth Consecutive Year

Stanbridge College Is Named to the 2014 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for the Fifth Consecutive Year


IRVINE, CA--(Marketwired - Jan 13, 2015) - Stanbridge College has been named to the 2014 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll by the Corporation for National and Community Service for the fifth consecutive year. The award is the highest federal recognition a college or university can receive for its commitment to volunteering, service-learning, and civic engagement. The recognition honors the college for its positive impact on local and global communities including:

  • Co-founding the Free Pantry Organization, a non-profit organization that provides a free source of nutritious food to low-income families and the homeless
  • Donating over 275,000 lbs. of fresh produce to Orange County residents in need
  • Serving over 6,695 meals to the homeless
  • Providing 1,029 low-income families and the homeless with free medical and dental health access
  • Administering over 1,070 flu shots for the County of Orange
  • Raising $10,000 to provide Lestonnac Free Clinic with a new portable dental x-ray machine allowing the clinic to expand their dental services for the uninsured
