Pretty But Dumb Is Not Cool With Wyse Gyrls; New Girl Pop Group Offers Music With An Educational Message

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - March 9, 2010) - Every parent knows, finding good role models for kids isn't easy these days. Now comes a new girl pop group that will appeal not only to kids but to parents as well. Wyse Gyrls is being launched by Rhonda Coleman in response to the education crisis in our schools. Coleman conducted a nationwide search for "wyse" girls who are as smart as they are talented.

After putting them through rigorous classes in chemistry, computer programming, calculus, foreign languages, competitive debate, martial arts, etiquette and more, Coleman selected the first Wyse Gyrls. They are: Katherine Realpe, Ashley McJunkin, Coryn Mabalot and Priscilla Casper.

They all come with years of singing, dancing and acting experience under their very young belts. These Wyse Gyrls are out to empower, inspire and educate other girls on everything from studying the sciences to making "wyse" choices in relationships and careers.

Their message will be in their music, which is best described as neuro tech pop. Wyse Gyrls' self titled single is available now through their web site www.wysegyrls.com and will soon be sold on iTunes. Wyse Gyrls will be bringing their empowering message to girls on stage, online and at schools, malls and everywhere girls like to hang.

Wyse Gyrls are active in STEM, the nationwide program that encourages kids to study science, technology, engineering and math. Traditionally subjects and careers more likely to attract males, the Wyse Gyrls and Rhonda Coleman are out to change that. With help from their sister group, STEM Jam, the Wyse Gyrls will hold "edutainment parties" where the girls will celebrate the sciences and conduct fun experiments.

For the youngest of their fans, Wyse Gyrls will have cool interactive iPhone apps and "wyse" dolls in their images. Girls are never too young to learn it is cool to be smart and to make "wyse" choices. Look for the Wyse Gyrls on a stage, screen, or school near you.
