Pride Football Club Uses UNEQUAL EXO Armor to Create "The Most Protected Football Team in America"

FORNEY, TX--(Marketwire - May 30, 2012) - Pride Football Club is proud to announce that it has created the "Most Protected Football Team in America" using advanced, proprietary EXO Armor provided by UNEQUAL Technologies®, the premier provider of head and body armor for soldiers and athletes. Pride Football Club, based in Forney, TX, is committed to promoting safety in sports, ensuring kids play against opponents their own age, which is both safer and allows players to see more time on the field. UNEQUAL® is a national sponsor of the Pride Football Club and shares its passion for safety in sports. The company will provide EXO Armor, its military grade gear fused with Kevlar®, to Pride's youth football players in an effort to significantly reduce the potential for bodily and head injuries.

According to Safe Kids USA, more than 3.5 million kids under age 14 receive medical treatment for sports injuries each year and injuries associated with participation in sports and recreational activities account for 21 percent of all traumatic brain injuries among children in the United States. In addition, and among athletes ages 5 to 14, 28 percent of youth football players incur an injury during the season. A 2011 study conducted by researchers in the Center for Injury Research and Policy of The Research Institute at Nationwide Children's Hospital found that an estimated 5.25 million football-related injuries among children and adolescents between 6 and 17 years of age were treated in U.S. emergency departments between 1990 and 2007.

"Football is one of the most popular sports played by young athletes, but unfortunately, it is also the number one sport associated with youth athletic injuries," stated Rob Vito, president of UNEQUAL Technologies. "UNEQUAL is committed to protecting athletes against the potential of injuries associated with high impact sports -- such as football. We are thrilled to provide Pride advanced protection so their players can safely enjoy the game to its fullest. We wish all the Pride teams luck in the 2012 season."

To increase safety on the field, all Pride football helmets will be fitted with UNEQUAL CRT (concussion reduction technology). CRT is a supplemental pad that may reduce the possibility of head injury. CRT, constructed with military grade composite fused with Kevlar®, can be customized and conformed to virtually any shape or size. Just cut, peel and stick it to the existing helmet padding for extra protection in all types of helmets including football, baseball, lacrosse, hockey, skating, snowboarding, skate boarding, climbing, equestrian, biking, motorcycling and other sports or activities that require helmets.

"We're excited to partner with Unequal and their amazing protection. Our board unanimously agreed that it was our obligation to provide the safest equipment available to all of our players. Our players will go into the 2012 season more protected and ready for battle," stated Don Vrana managing member of the Pride Football Club.
