Prince William and Kate Online Cookbook Launched

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 24, 2011) - An online cookbook in which people can share favourite family recipes with Prince William and his wife, is now live.

www.willandkateskitchen.com is the brainchild of Ottawa resident Judith Yaworsky who wanted a way to thank the royal couple for sharing their wonderful wedding day with two billion people.

"For one marvelous moment, we were all one big, happy family: mesmerized by the pageantry, inspired by their obvious love for each other and hopeful that all will be well in this world of ours", she says. "Like any family gathering, food is a focus – and food is a way to show love."

The idea came to her after seeing a picture of Kate pushing a shopping cart just a few days after 'The Wedding of the Century'. Yaworsky, who along with a cousin, recently created a well-loved, four-generation cookbook for their own family, instantly knew that the online cookbook would be a great present for the royal couple.

"When they're not touring the world, they have to cook just like us," she says. "The recipes that have been submitted so far have been tested for years, and even generations, in real people's kitchens, so we are certain that they are very good.

Interesting submissions to date include a decadent dessert from India, a Mediterranean salsa soup from Canada, and a South African 'biltong' submitted by a gentleman from Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.

"Our aim is to create a cookbook filled with recipes fit for Prince William and his bride and for all the princes and princesses in our lives", says Yaworsky, who in 1984 stepped in at the last moment to handle media coordination on one of Queen Elizabeth's multi-province tours.

Anyone wishing to submit recipes to the online cookbook can do so at www.willandkateskitchen.com.

Net proceeds from the online advertising will be donated to one of Will and Kate's designated charities, the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary.
