Princeton Facial Plastic Surgeon Emphasizes Benefits of Customized Facial Rejuvenation

Dr. Eugenie Brunner Details the Variety of Cosmetic Injectables Available and Compares a Customized Approach to Three-Dimensional Aesthetic Enhancement

PRINCETON, NJ--(Marketwired - Nov 18, 2014) - Helping patients reduce the appearance of common signs of aging is about more than dutifully injecting the latest filler, explains Princeton facial plastic surgeon Eugenie Brunner, MD. There is a wide variety of dermal fillers, neurotoxins, and other injectables that, when combined with an artistic approach, can provide increased benefits and more natural-looking results, she continues. By educating individuals about their many options within non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatments, she notes they typically are happier with the outcome.

Recognizing the number of available cosmetic treatments can seem intimidating for patients researching their options, Dr. Brunner says she strives to provide clarity by comparing injectables by their composition. Further breaking them into groups of volumizers, wrinkle reducers, and muscle relaxers, the Princeton facial plastic surgeon says she can encourage greater involvement and reasonable expectations from individuals who become more comfortable with the process.

Dr. Brunner stresses that if there are multiple areas of concern, a single cosmetic injectable typically cannot provide all the desired results. "As a standard, I usually use two different fillers and sometimes three in a single session." By utilizing an array of products, she says she can customize treatment for comprehensive aesthetic enhancement, reducing fine lines, adding volume, and minimizing the appearance of undereye bags. She makes a distinction between her customization practices and what is often called a "liquid facelift," saying she contours each session to address the needs and goals of each patient. Rather than rotating through the same two or three injectables applied to the same locations like a plumping assembly line, she selects from a full range of FDA-approved options as necessitated by the unique anatomy of the individual. Furthermore, she prefers patients opt-in for a series of conservative injections to develop natural-looking results.

Ultimately, Dr. Brunner believes that it is exciting to have such an abundance of high-quality non-surgical aesthetic enhancement products; however, she reminds patients that the plenitude must be utilized with care. "For me, injecting fillers is an art. I use different fillers in different regions, in small amounts, like painting and sculpting." She urges individuals considering facial rejuvenation treatments to seek out a board-certified facial plastic surgeon who will tailor the procedure to their characteristics.
