Princeton Power Systems to Exhibit and Speak at the Solar Power International Show

Princeton Power Systems Is Booth #2002 at the Solar Power International Show and Will Discuss Annobon Island Microgrid Technology -- the Largest Self-Sufficient Solar Power Microgrid in Africa

PRINCETON, NJ--(Marketwired - Sep 8, 2015) -  Princeton Power Systems, a leading global designer and manufacturer of technology products and embedded software for energy storage, microgrid operations, and electric vehicle charging, announced today that they will be exhibiting and presenting a poster of their Annobon Island and Alcatraz Island projects, at the Solar Power International Show: September 14th - September 17th at the Anaheim Convention Center. Princeton Power Systems' Booth is #2002.

Annobon Island is one of Princeton Power Systems' recent microgrid projects in Annobon Province, Equatorial Guinea. The island has a population of about 5,000 residents who are restricted to just 5 hours of electricity each day. The electricity that is provided to them is not only painstakingly minimal, but the residents spend 15-20% of their income on this supplemental power. Princeton Power Systems and partners are working together on a solar and battery microgrid that will significantly reduce costs and also provide reliable electricity for 24 hours per day, seven days a week.

Darren Hammell, Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer of Princeton Power, will present "Alcatraz to Africa -- Operating a Solar Microgrid to Deliver 100% of the Islands Energy" on Wednesday, September 16th from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM in HALL D. The presentation will detail the design and technology of the largest self-sufficient solar power microgrid in all of Africa.

"We are excited for Solar Power International and it's an honor to present our microgrid work, including Annobon Island. Solar energy, batteries, power conversion, and microgrid controls are now the most cost-effective way to bring constant and reliable electricity to many locations," explained Darren Hammell, Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer at Princeton Power Systems. "This project in particular will improve the quality of life for all of the island's residents and set an example for future developments."

Princeton Power Systems' BIGI-250 power conversion platform, the first three-port industrial-scale solar energy management system with UL listing and thousands of operating hours in commercial applications, and the Energy Management Operating System (EMOS™) controller technology are key drivers behind the project on Annobon Island.
