Printera Corporation: Third Quarter Results

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 12, 2005) - Printera Corporation (TSX:PAC) announced today its results for the fiscal quarter ended June 30, 2005.

Revenues for the quarter decreased to $8.3 million compared to $10.1 million for the same period in 2004. Year to date revenues decreased to $23.7 million compared to $25.4 million in 2004. The decline in revenue was the net result of growth in the Beer segment being offset by the Company's decision to exit unprofitable business, the loss of business in all other segments due to the production issues of 2004 and the decline in the value of the US dollar.

Despite the lower revenues, EBITDA for the quarter rose to $1.0 million compared to $0.8 million in 2004. Year to date EBITDA was $2.2 million up from $1.6 million in 2004. The improvements were a result of productivity improvements and company-wide cost reductions.

The Company incurred a net loss of $0.2 million for the quarter compared to a net loss of $0.1 million in 2004. The year to date net loss was $1.2 million compared to $0.5 million in 2004. Despite the higher EBITDA in 2005, the increases in amortization and interest expenses and the lack of income tax recoveries booked this year, led to the higher loss.
