MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 3, 2006) - Management of Ressources Miniere Pro-Or Inc. ("Pro-Or") (TSX VENTURE:POI) is pleased to announce that Mr. Leo-Guy Morrissette has been appointed Vice President of the Company. Mr. Morrissette is a well-known businessman and respected industrialist. He has been assigned the important responsibility of developing Pro-Or's platinum group metals (PGM) recovery process.

The latest tests on recovering PGM from automotive catalytic converters at Pro-Or's pilot plant in St-Augustin have proved very positive, yielding recoveries of 99% for platinum and paladium and 97% for rhodium. Mr. Morrissette has already commenced work on this file. With the collaboration of engineering consultants Johnston Vermette and Phytronix Technologies Inc., he expects to first organize modifications to the current prototype plant so as to then begin producing PGM from concentrate.

About Pro-Or

Founded in 1986, Pro-Or is active in the exploration of mining properties with a view to commercial production. In the past five years, with the assistance of Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique, Pro-Or has conducted R&D that has led to the development of two new processes, one for upgrading chromite and another for recovery of platinum group minerals from refractory ores and rich concentrates from recycled automotive catalytic converters. These processes are now patented.
