Pro-Or Files Technical Report on its Menarik Chromium Property, Groupe Conseil Roche Confirms Over 5.3 Million Tonnes Grading 7.84% Cr2O3

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - March 20, 2006) - Ressources Minieres Pro-Or Inc. (TSX VENTURE:POI) is pleased to announce that it has completed a technical report on its Menarik chromium property, in the James Bay area of Quebec. The report shows that the property has a high-grade resource of over 5 million tonnes in four zones, with excellent potential for additional tonnage.

Carried out by Groupe Conseil Roche Ltee in Quebec City, the report contains a compilation of recent and historical work performed on the property. In all, 30 chromite showings have been identified. Diamond drilling has been conducted on 14 showings, and chrome-bearing zones have been identified on 10 of these. Resource calculations for four zones (CR-1, CR-16, CR-17 and CR-31) have confirmed 5,352,000 tonnes of measured and indicated resources grading 7.84% Cr2O3, comparable to high-quality South African chromite. The resource estimates have been calculated in compliance with National Instrument 43-101.

The report, which reviews the chromite, platinum-group element and copper-nickel mineralization on the property, can be accessed on the SEDAR website at

Pro-Or will resume work on the property on March 22, 2006, when a new 2,000-metre drilling program will start on showings CR-17 and CR-31, as well as on other targets that have not been drilled to date. Yvan Bussieres, engineer-geologist and qualified person under 43-101, reviewed this press release.

About Pro-Or

Established in 1986, Pro-Or is involved in the exploration of mineral properties with a view to developing their commercial potential. In the course of the last five years, in cooperation with the Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique (INRS), Pro-Or conducted research and development work that led to the creation of new processes for chromite enrichment and the extraction of platinum-group metals from refractory ores and metallic scrap. These processes became necessary when the Company was considering starting up production of the platiniferous chromite deposit on its Menarik-James Bay property. They have now been patented.
