ProactiveNet Expands License Agreement With Jeppesen

Ease-of-Use, Scalability Leads to Enterprise Deployment; ProactiveNet Provides Real-Time Visibility Into Performance of IT Infrastructure

SANTA CLARA, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 10, 2007 -- ProactiveNet Inc., the time-to-value leader in Business Services Management (BSM), today announced that Jeppesen has expanded its ProactiveNet software license agreement. The product, originally purchased in 2004 for transaction and system monitoring, has expanded to become the primary monitoring solution for Jeppesen's domestic enterprise IT operations, and will soon be the primary monitoring solution at Jeppesen's facility in Frankfurt, Germany.

Jeppesen, a subsidiary of the Boeing Company, serves the aviation, marine and rail markets with information solutions that make it possible for people around the globe to safely and efficiently reach their destinations. In aviation, the company's applications and services include navigation charts, flight planning, crew management, operations recovery, and integration of both airborne and ground information systems. Jeppesen's solutions help 85% of the world's airlines, as well as a majority of corporate operations and many of the world's military flying units.

"Several major airlines access our information daily, so if the flight planning application is down or slow it can affect airline schedules," said Tim Grafton, manager of enterprise application services at Jeppesen. "With ProactiveNet, we can see if there's a problem developing and fix it before it impacts one of these revenue-critical applications. We also monitor our internal applications, and have automated processes through ProactiveNet to restart those applications if they are not responding. It's a huge time and money saver, and puts everyone at ease."

Prior to ProactiveNet, Jeppesen deployed a large systems management framework, yet management of the product was too time consuming and expensive. Rather than find a solution that could integrate with their current investment, the team felt it was better to replace it altogether.

"One of ProactiveNet's key benefits is its ease-of-use," continued Grafton. "It sets up and deploys quickly, scales easily, and doesn't take a team of systems administrators to maintain. In fact, one full-time employee spends only about 20% of his time managing the solution, so the rest of his time is spent on other projects. That ease-of-use is why ProactiveNet is now deployed across 100% of our production environment, half of our development and QA environment, and why it will soon be deployed across our Frankfurt office."

Grafton said his team follows best practices recommendations from the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), and leverages ProactiveNet in the areas of problem management, availability management, capacity management and service level management.

"When Jeppesen became a customer three years ago, we stated that we shared Jeppesen's vision of developing innovative products based on customer requirements," said Ajay Singh, president and CEO of ProactiveNet. "That vision is unwavering. Jeppesen is a textbook example of a company following the IT industry's best practices recommendations to enhance operations efficiencies for itself, and ultimately to provide better products and services for its customers. We're pleased to expand with Jeppesen as the company continues its success."
