ProactiveNet Provides Homescape Real-Time Visibility Into Performance of IT Infrastructure

SANTA CLARA, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- January 31, 2007 -- ProactiveNet, Inc., the time-to-value leader in Business Services Management (BSM), today announced that Classified Ventures' Homescape division continues to see success, and plans to expand usage of ProactiveNet to meet its growing network demands to identify and resolve developing performance issues before they affect the online customer experience.

Classified Ventures is a strategic joint venture among five large media partners whose objectives are to collectively capitalize on the revenue growth in the online classified advertising categories of automotive, apartments, and real estate. The company's four leading online businesses,,, HomeGain and Homescape help to execute on that plan. Initially deployed in 2003, ProactiveNet was brought in for the Homescape division, which builds real estate-related software products for its partners, to tie in all the monitored performance data from across the infrastructure.

"Our early attempts to monitor the entire IT infrastructure were labor intensive, because we had no way to tie in all the data from all the monitoring tools, nor did we have a way to see relationships among the devices," said Nancy Pejril, director of technology operations at Homescape. "If there was a problem, we could spend hours gathering data from different sources to find the root of the problem. With ProactiveNet, it's all centralized. The product's ability to take seemingly unrelated variables, correlate them, and then point to a problem's probable cause is a strong feature."

ProactiveNet helps Homescape's technology team save time by automatically learning the normal operating behavior of the end-to-end IT infrastructure environment, and provides early warning when a performance attribute is outside of its normal range, but has not yet affected service delivery. In addition, ProactiveNet's patented analytics technology provides the unique ability to link SLAs, and other custom or business-related performance data, directly to the performance of the IT infrastructure in real-time. This capability enables IT operations and business unit owners to see how IT services are affecting the business, and helps them allocate staff and technology more efficiently.

"The value we received from ProactiveNet was quick and quantifiable," continued Pejril. "We've seen an improvement in productivity within the administrative team, and we can see capacity issues before they ever become operational problems."
