ProactiveNet 7.1 Expands Monitoring & Administrative Capabilities; Improves Deployment, Scalability and Ease-of-Use

Enhanced in 7.1, ProactiveNet's patent-pending Detailed Diagnostics data collection feature now enables users to intelligently collect diagnostic information from throughout the IT infrastructure remotely without an agent. This enhancement not only increases the breadth of ProactiveNet's data collection capabilities, it also facilitates deployment and scalability by eliminating the need to install and maintain agents on every monitored device. Detailed Diagnostics speeds root-cause analysis by automatically capturing relevant data from a monitored device the instant abnormal activity is detected, and immediately makes this information available to IT via the ProactiveNet dashboard, by attaching diagnostics to the alarm itself, or through other notification methods such as a mobile device. ProactiveNet comes pre-configured with comprehensive diagnostic information that leverages its extensive domain knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructures, and users have the option of configuring their own diagnostics tailored to their unique environments.

ProactiveNet continues to expand its out-of-the-box monitors and adapters which enable IT staff to track the performance and availability of virtually any device across the end-to-end IT infrastructure in real time. ProactiveNet 7.1 includes a new Log File Monitor Wizard which enables fast, easy and scalable creation of customized log file monitors, so IT staff can track and correlate data from their own systems with log file data from various third party applications. ProactiveNet's GUI-based Monitor Wizards facilitate customization and deployment, enabling IT staff to configure new monitors on the fly to track any measurable performance attribute in real time, including key business metrics. In addition, newly added or upgraded monitors support CA Unicenter 11, Suse Linux 10.1 (32 bit), ATG 7.2, BEA WebLogic Server version 9.1 (Solaris and Windows), and Check Point NGX 60.

ProactiveNet 7.1 also includes several administrative improvements that focus on the automation of routine, day-to-day management and change upkeep that can reduce the productivity of NOC personnel. Administrative improvements include more granularity of access controls, which address the needs of customers maintaining SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) compliance; more flexibility for scheduled downtime; improved auto-deployment scripts; multiple interface enhancements; and alarm reduction and suppression controls which eliminate multiple alarms for the same event. Now only alarms that contain actionable, probable-cause information reach the enterprise console.
