Procera Delivers Ground-Breaking PacketLogic PL8920, Establishing New Throughput Density Benchmark

New PacketLogic Model Achieves 50 Gbps of Throughput for Chassis-Level Performance at Appliance-Level Pricing, Enabling Real-Time Intelligent Policy Enforcement

FREMONT, CA--(Marketwire - Apr 16, 2012) - Procera Networks, Inc. ("Procera") (NASDAQ: PKT), the intelligent policy enforcement company, today announced the launch of the PacketLogic™ 8920, a flexible Intelligent Policy Enforcement (IPE) platform that is ideal for network deployments supporting high-density subscriber/user scenarios and provides a cost-effective, small appliance footprint. The PL8920 is a highly-scalable 2RU appliance supporting up to 50 Gbps of network traffic throughput accessible through six modular I/O slots, configurable with up to 12 x 10GE or 24 x 1GE interfaces. This configuration represents 25 Gbps of network flow throughput per rack unit, setting a new industry benchmark for IPE platforms.

The PL8920 is ideally suited for cable, broadband, and converged network service provider deployments where traffic is aggregated and analyzed at the edge of their network, requiring high I/O density in a small form factor where physical space is at a premium. The new PL8920 is also ideally suited to LTE mobile network deployments where mobile operators need dispersed small footprint configurations that can quickly and economically scale to millions of subscribers as LTE coverage expands and supports more subscribers.

"Procera Networks once again lowers the cost of implementing IPE by bringing chassis-level scale, performance, and reliability to an appliance-level product," said Cam Cullen, vice president of global marketing for Procera Networks. "Our new PL8920 gives our service provider customers the ability to flexibly deploy our technology where needed without sacrificing precious rack space in demanding network deployment scenarios."

The PL8920 supports up to 3 million active subscribers/users and 20 million active flows, with the ability to enforce policy on all concurrent flows in the system. When combined with Procera's PacketLogic Subscriber Management platform, the PL8920 becomes a powerful tool that enables prioritization and management of traffic and provides business analytics through the PacketLogic Report Studio.

The PL8920 is available immediately for customer shipments. For more information, please visit
