Procera Networks Secures Large Follow-On Order

$4.5 Million Follow-On Order for Tier-1 Service Provider Completes $10 Million Order

LOS GATOS, CA--(Marketwire - October 6, 2009) - Procera® Networks Inc. (NYSE Amex: PKT), a developer of Evolved Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) solutions providing traffic awareness, control and protection for complex networks, today announced a follow-on order of $4.5 million to the $5.4 million Tier-1 order announced in August (see announcement here). The addition of this new equipment purchase amounts to the largest announced DPI new sale in the last several years. This Tier-1 service provider will use Procera's PacketLogic systems to gather network intelligence to maximize the service quality for its subscribers. Procera Networks expects to recognize the majority of this revenue within the 2009 fiscal year.

"Today's announcement showcases the tremendous momentum behind the DPI market and Procera's technical superiority," said James F. Brear, Procera Network's CEO and president. "Service providers require better network information and operational awareness to monitor and maintain resources effectively. We're pleased that the field-tested and proven technology behind the PL10000series enables us to quickly go through assessment, integration, validation and installation to meet these needs immediately, even for deployments for this size."

With this network-wide implementation, Procera Networks will be taking advantage of its award-winning PacketLogic™ PL10014 system which can scale to over 400 Gbps. The PL10000 series was announced in May 2008 and today still maintains performance and scalability leadership worldwide. Each individual chassis can deliver 80 Gbps of throughput and can be clustered in a theoretically unlimited number of units. While scalability is a strong value proposition, the functionality requested by service providers is just as strong a reason for DPI investments and for Procera.

"Service providers need accurate visibility into their networks in order to make decisions regarding network resources on an as-needed basis," said Jon Lindén, Procera Network's vice president of Global Marketing. "Service providers are already deploying their second generation of DPI and Procera is better prepared than any other vendor to manage current requirements and do it at high speeds. Our long-time commitment to accuracy, feature-richness and carrier-grade performance provides us a significant competitive strength."
