Produce Safety and Security Receives Approval to Sell and Distribute Spherequat1000 Within the State of Louisiana

First Container Load of Product Slated to Arrive On-Site This Week With Follow-Up Orders Anticipated to Follow

PRESCOTT, AZ -- (MARKET WIRE) -- October 3, 2005 -- Produce Safety & Security International, Inc. (OTC: PDSC) today announced that the Sphere Group, manufacturer of the Spherequat line of products, has received notification from the Pesticide Registration Division, Department of Agriculture and Forestry, State of Louisiana, giving approval and authorization for the sale and distribution of Spherequat1000 within the State of Louisiana. It is anticipated that the authorization to also distribute the Spherequat Ready-to-Use cleaner and disinfectant product for non-porous surfaces will soon follow.

Clarence Karney, CEO of PDSI, commented, "The first trailer load shipment of Spherequat1000, an E.P.A. Reg. No. 10324-63-82131 cleaning and disinfectant product, will be shipped to our contractor in Louisiana on October 7, 2005. This is just the first of many trailer loads of cleaning and disinfectant products that will be required over the next few years to assist in effecting a clean-up of the unparallel environmental damage from hurricanes Katrina and Rita." He added, "The massive oil spills and millions of gallons of raw sewage spread throughout the city of New Orleans, and along the 400-mile Louisiana coast, will take years to completely remediate. Spherequat1000 will remove bacteria, disease pathogens and mold, which are just a few of the many clean-up issues that will have to be dealt with."
