Product Recall: Kobian Recalls XtatiK AC Adapters Sold With Portable Travel Power Kit

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 15, 2009) -

The Electrical Safety Authority in cooperation with Kobian Canada Inc. ("KCI") is notifying the public that KCI has announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using the recalled products immediately.

Name of Product:

AC adapter bundled in XtatiK 3-Piece iPod Travel Power Kit.


Approximately 16,000 units of the product were sold in Canada between November 2007 and January 2009 and approximately 10,000 of the units were sold in Ontario.


The AC Adaptor is manufactured in China by Chuangu Industry Shexen Co. Ltd.


The AC Adaptor is imported by KCI.


No known incidents or injuries.


The product displays an unauthorized UL mark and it has not been tested to determine whether it is compliant with the Canadian Standards for product safety.


The adapter was bundled together with a USB to iPod connecting cable and a car-charger and sold under the XtatiK brand. The bundled product bears the bar code number 8886383608741.
