Production Designer Terence Marsh to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award From Art Directors Guild at 14th Annual Awards Ceremony, Feb. 13, 2010

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - September 24, 2009) - Academy Award-winning Production Designer Terence Marsh will be presented with the Art Directors Guild Lifetime Achievement Award at the 14th Annual Art Directors Guild Awards ceremony on February 13, 2010, it was announced today by Thomas A. Walsh, ADG Council President, and Awards co-producers John Janavs and Dawn Snyder. The award will be presented at a black-tie industry gathering at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Marsh was born on November 14, 1931 in London, England. His career spans fifty years and includes such films as: "A Man for All Seasons" (1966), "A Bridge Too Far" (1977), "Sphinx" (1981), "The Hunt for Red October" (1990), "Basic Instinct" (1992), "The Shawshank Redemption" (1994), and "The Green Mile" (1999). He is a two time Academy Award® winner -- for "Doctor Zhivago" (1965) and "Oliver!" (1968) -- and was nominated for "Scrooge" (1970) and "Mary, Queen of Scots" (1971).

Previous recipients of ADG Lifetime Achievement Awards are Production Designers Ken Adam, Robert Boyle, Albert Brenner, Henry Bumstead, Roy Christopher, Stuart Craig, Bill Creber, John Mansbridge, Harold Michelson, Jan Scott, Paul Sylbert and Dean Tavoularis.

Nominations for the 14th ADG Awards will be announced on January 8, 2010. On awards night, February 13, the ADG will present winners in nine competitive categories for theatrical films, television productions and commercials, along with the Guild's award for Outstanding Contribution to Cinematic Imagery and three Hall of Fame inductees, which are still to be announced.

Media sponsors for this year's ADG awards are Below The Line, Daily Variety, and The Hollywood Reporter. Tarin Wilson of Plan A Events will produce this year's awards ceremony for ADG.
