Produits Vince Inc. Receives $300,000 in Funding From Government of Canada to Expand Operations

SAINT-THOMAS, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Aug. 24, 2011) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announced that Produits Vince Inc. received $300,000 in repayable financial assistance to set up its new facilities and purchase specialized equipment in order to expand its product line.

"The Government of Canada believes in the importance of supporting enterprises that, like Produits Vince, are diversifying their activities and thereby contributing to the economic vitality of their regions," said Minister Lebel.

Produits Vince Inc. specializes in the manufacture of lightweight metal-framed shelters for automobiles, boats, recreational vehicles, farm equipment and motorized construction and forestry equipment. Based in Saint-Thomas, in the Lanaudière region, the firm designs and manufactures all of its own products, a feature that distinguishes it from the competition. The company's clientele mainly includes major hardware chains and local distributors in Quebec and Ontario.

This diversification project enabled the enterprise, which is celebrating its first anniversary in its new plant, to increase production and expand to year-round operations. The firm was also able to implement a materials requirements planning system to help it improve performance and become more competitive.

This financial contribution has been granted through the Business and Regional Growth program, an initiative aimed at strengthening the conditions conducive to the sustainable growth of Quebec's regions and small and medium-sized enterprises.
