Professeurs Pour La Liberte Program (PPL) Gala Event on Oct. 18 Cancelled

OTTAWA, Canada--(CCNMatthews - Oct 13, 2005) -

The following notice was released today by Professeurs Pour La Liberte Program, announcing the cancellation of the Oct. 18 gala event:

Dear PPL Supporters,

We regret to inform you that after many months of preparation -- with much anticipation to receive the former President of the United States President Bill Clinton to unveil this unique program -- the PPL Gala Event has been cancelled. This initiative has been in the hearts and minds of many Canadians and people around the world in particularly the African youths.

We received a statement from former President Clinton's scheduling agency stating:

"Unfortunately, due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts, President Clinton is unable to attend the Professeurs pour la liberte (PPL) event, as we had previously announced. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience ..."

We are truly disappointed with this development but are working to reschedule the event for a latter date and upon confirmation all our loyal supporters will be notified.

Despite this minor set back the Professeurs pour la Liberte Program will march forward with its objectives and goals. I ask that all our loyal supporters visit the Professeurs pour la Liberte (PPL) website at to register your views and comments about the program.

I want to thank everyone for their overwhelming support and encouragement over this period and I look forward to working with you to make the Professeurs pour la Liberte Program a reality for the youths of Africa.
