Project Homeless Connect 15 to Help People Prepare for Winter Saturday, May 28, 2011


CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Nov. 14, 2012) -

What: With winter arriving, the 15th Project Homeless Connect (PHC) is expecting a larger turnout- anywhere from 600 to 1,000 people. In total, more than 10,000 individuals have attended 14 previous PHC events in Calgary.
https://involve.calgaryhomeless.com/housewarming2012At PHC, people at risk of or experiencing homelessness can access support from about 45 agencies and services. Available services include medical aid; legal advice and help getting identification; mental health and addictions counselling; information on income support; employment counselling; housing information; and more. Those attending can also receive free haircuts, comfort kits, clothing and a nutritious, hot lunch.
Thank you to the China National Offshore Oil Corporation for generously sponsoring PHC 15, and to the approximately 80 volunteers who give their time to serve at the event.

8:00 a.m. Muffins/beverages provided in line before doors open
9:00 a.m. Doors open to participants
12:00 p.m. Lunch is served until 2:00 p.m. (four sittings of 30 minutes each).
2:00 p.m. Participant intake closes
