FORT LAUDERDALE, FL--(Marketwire - May 5, 2009) - Sanswire Corp. (PINKSHEETS: SNSR), www.sanswire.com, is proud to announce the election of national defense expert and retired United States Army Captain David A. Christian as Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Mr. Christian is currently CEO and President of a defense industry related manufacturing company with multi-million dollar contracts that supports the needs of the US Navy. He has served as a key advisor to four US Presidents, members of Congress, and state governors, working with foreign heads of state and US and foreign cabinet level officials. He became the youngest ever National Commander of the country's oldest and most prestigious veterans' organization, the Legion of Valor, representing only recipients of the nation's Medal of Honor, Navy Cross, or DSC. Also, he co- founded the Vietnam Veterans of America together with Senator John Kerry and Bobby Muller.

He is often invited for appearances as a commentator/expert on Fox News, as well as CNN, ABC, CBS and NBC news programs. Additionally, he is often sought as a contributor for historic documentaries, two of which were "Making Sense Out of the Sixties" and "The Ten Thousand Day War." His book, "Victor Six: The Saga of America's Youngest, Most Decorated Officer in Vietnam," was published in 1990-91 by McGraw-Hill Companies and in 1993 with Simon and Schuster.

"Sanswire has been working toward its ultimate goal of providing unique airship platforms to customers requiring persistent ISR. Now that construction of the STS-111 airship is a reality, Sanswire needs strong leadership to guide the company upward to its next stage of growth," stated Mr. Christian. "As Chairman, my immediate goals are to address the Company's current outstanding issues, to prepare the company fiscally and responsibly for the next steps, and to provide the resources necessary to place Sanswire firmly in the markets in which it belongs."

Mr. Christian enlisted in the US Army at 17 years old. He rapidly rose through the enlisted ranks to Sergeant, attended Officer Candidate School and was commissioned at 18. With graduation from Jump School and Green Beret training, he was promoted to Captain (O-3) at age 20 and served in combat with Rangers 1st Infantry Division Long Range Recon Patrols. His service in Vietnam ended February 20, 1969 when he was severely burned by napalm and medically retired from the Army at age 21.

As a civilian, Mr. Christian attended Rutgers University Law School after graduating with honors from Villanova University and attended Bryn Mawr College's Russian Language Institute. He speaks fluent German and Russian.
