VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Feb. 1, 2006) - Prominex Resource Corp. (TSX VENTURE:PXR) -

Mr. Allan Frew reports:

Prominex Resource Corp. announced today is has commenced a detailed airborne magnetic/electromagnetic survey over its Tulks Hill group metal (Zn-Pb-Cu (Ag-Au)) property located 40 km southwest of Buchans in Central Newfoundland. The survey is designed to better define the geology in known areas of mineralization and detect new conductive zones of Zn-Pb-Cu mineralization on the property.

Prominex has contracted Aeroquest Limited of Milton, Ontario to carry out the survey using its new AeroTEM II HTEM system. This system reportedly provides exceptional depth penetration, and excellent spatial resolution for more precise target definition than conventional systems.

The Tulks Hill program is being carried out under the supervision of Allan Frew B.Sc., P.Geo., who is a Qualified Person under National Instrument 43-101.
