ProMutual Group Names New VP of Risk Management

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - September 11, 2008) - ProMutual Group, a leading provider of medical liability insurance in the Northeast, is pleased to announce that Anne Huben-Kearney, RN, CPHRM, CPHQ, will assume the position of vice president of risk management. Ms. Huben-Kearney has been with the company for six years in the role of manager in the risk management department. She will start in her new position on September 15, 2008.

In her former position at ProMutual Group, Ms. Huben-Kearney excelled at managing a multitude of responsibilities including the management of staff as well as technical field work with policyholders. Prior to her employment with ProMutual Group, she had a successful career in nursing administration at hospitals in the New Haven and New Britain, Connecticut, areas. In addition to supervisory responsibilities, her role at New Britain General Hospital included oversight of quality assurance and performance improvement.

"The knowledge and experience Anne has gained in the hospital settings as well as her tenure here with us will serve as a solid platform as she assumes her new role with the organization," said Richard W. Brewer, president and CEO of ProMutual Group. "We are delighted that she has accepted this new position."

Maureen Mondor, ProMutual Group's former vice president of risk management and the company's new vice president of physician education, has worked closely with Ms. Huben-Kearney for the past several years and has confidently passed on the torch to her colleague. A major part of Ms. Huben-Kearney's new role will be to lead the company's risk management department as it embarks on several new initiatives that will expand the scope of its responsibilities. Plans include offering the company's renowned clinical appraisals, claims and benchmarking analyses and other risk management services at cost to physicians, practices and hospitals that are not ProMutual Group policyholders.

"Anne will do a tremendous job in this new position and I am excited for both her and the company," said Ms. Mondor. "Anne has a positive attitude and wonderful rapport with policyholders, the medical societies and others outside the company that will serve her well as she takes on these challenges and opportunities as the new vice president of risk management."

Ms. Huben-Kearney is an active member of the National and Connecticut Associations for Healthcare Quality; the American, New Jersey and Connecticut Societies for Healthcare Risk Management; the Connecticut Medical Group Managers Association and Connecticut Women in Healthcare Management. She received her graduate degree in public administration with a concentration in healthcare management from the University of New Haven and her bachelors in nursing from College Misericordia.
