Propeller Brewing Begins Expansion of Halifax Facility

Attention: Assignment Editor, Business/Financial Editor, City Editor, Food/Beverage Editor, News Editor HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA, NEWS RELEASE--(CCNMatthews - March 29, 2007) - Halifax- Following two years of double digit growth, Propeller Brewing has begun adding a 1650 sq ft extension to its existing Gottingen Street facility. The extension will help Propeller deal with increasing warehousing and production demands as a result of 80% growth over a 3-year period.

The new addition will be added to the back of the existing building where Propeller is also adding four additional brewing tanks and a faster bottling machine in an attempt to increase it's current capacity by 80%. "We had intended to add the building this year but we've bumped our plans to add additional tanks forward by 18 months because we are growing so quickly," says Halifax native and company founder John Allen.

Propeller brewing has also enjoyed terrific media exposure over the last few months by having its beer prominently featured in The Trailer Park Boys movie as well as Les Invincables in Quebec. "We've been lucky in both cases," says John Allen, "We were approached by the producers because the cast just happened to think that we make great beer."

Apparently the judges at the World Beer Championships in Chicago like their beer as well. Propeller has just won gold medals for its (ESB) Extra Special Bitter and IPA (India Pale Ale) for the second straight year.
