ProPhotonix Appoints Luster LightTech as Exclusive Distributor of
Machine Vision Illumination Products in China and Hong Kong

                Opens new markets for ProPhotonix

ProPhotonix Limited, (London Stock Exchange - AIM: PPIX and PPIR, OTC:
STKR.PK), a designer and manufacturer of LED systems and laser modules
as well as a distributor of premium vendors' laser diodes, announces
that it has appointed Luster LightTech Co. Ltd ("Luster LightTech") as
its exclusive distributor of Machine Vision illumination products in
China and Hong Kong. The agreement with Luster LightTech builds on the
Company's existing strong position within the Machine Vision
marketplace in Europe and the United States.

Machine Vision systems enable the inspection of products throughout the
manufacturing process and allow manufacturers to ensure that their
products conform to the exact specifications to which they were
initially designed. Luster LightTech, established in June 1996, is
made up of four separate business units covering both the Vision &
Imaging and Fibre Optic communication sectors. The company's product
offering includes illuminations and lens, sensors and cameras,
specified imaging modulesand also Machine Vision software. With
Offices around China and Hong Kong, Luster LightTech has an established
presence within the Machine Vision sector in this area.
