ProSent Mobile and Dole Team Up to Bring Facebook Recipes to Mobile

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - October 7, 2010) -  ProSent Mobile today announced that Dole Food Company is using the ProSent Mobile platform to extend Facebook and Twitter recipes, coupons and other food-and-nutrition content to mobile phones. 

The Dole Mobile Club, powered by ProSent Mobile, enables Dole's customers to instantly download a recipe or coupon to their phone after seeing it on Facebook or Twitter. Each Facebook/ Twitter posting contains a link that opens up a simple form to enter a phone number in order to instantly receive a Text with a link to a mobile Web micro-site containing the recipe(s) or coupon.

Customers need only follow a few simple steps:

Recipe: Delicious Pineapple Mango Salsa. Click on this link to have salsa recipes delivered directly to your phone.

The customer clicks on the link, enters her phone number, and instantly downloads it to her phone. Customers also will be able to sign up on Facebook, or by sending a Text to be alerted when new recipes or coupons are available from Dole.

The Dole Mobile Club is about the convergence of social media and mobile to provide customers continuous access to recipes, coupons, nutrition and other content -- at home, in the supermarket or on the go. And it has been getting rave reviews from its members, illustrated by a number of recent Facebook-posted comments about a recipe for Grilled Chicken Kabobs, including:
