Prospect Energy Corporation Increases Quarterly Dividend to $0.30 per Share

NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 15, 2006 -- Prospect Energy Corporation (NASDAQ: PSEC) ("Prospect") announced today that it has declared a third fiscal quarter (for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2006) dividend of $0.30 per share, payable on March 31, 2006, to shareholders of record as of March 24, 2006. The ex-dividend date is March 22, 2006. This dividend marks an increase of $0.02 from the prior quarter's dividend of $0.28 per share, and the sixth consecutive quarterly increase.
