Protexis Doubles E-commerce Transactions for Two Consecutive Quarters

VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(CCNMatthews - Oct 11, 2005) -

Protexis Inc., provider of e-commerce and digital rights management (DRM) hosted services for software publishers, today announced a major increase in the value of e-commerce transactions processed since the beginning of this year. For two consecutive quarters, e-commerce transactions have more than doubled, with the third quarter of 2005 showing a healthy 113% increase over the second quarter. This increase is attributed to the addition of new clients and products using Protexis' e-commerce services.

"We're very pleased with this tremendous growth in e-commerce activity, and we anticipate this trend to continue through this quarter and into next year. It means that more and more software publishers are looking for an e-commerce provider that is channel-neutral and that integrates additional, value-added services that are specifically designed for the software market," said Karl Hirsch, president and chief executive officer of Protexis.

"This kind of activity further demonstrates that Protexis is an emerging leader in this space. Given that we've really just begun integrating e-commerce services with our licensing infrastructure, we're very encouraged with this kind of growth. After seeing a 200% increase in product activations and four consecutive quarters of revenue growth, we're excited about what the future holds for Protexis and our customers," Hirsch added.

In addition to e-commerce services, Protexis also provides registration, trial and licensing services for software publishers. These services combined offer publishers a complete solution for selling and distributing their software online, without tying the publisher to a particular distribution channel. As standalone elements, Protexis' services can fill a gap in a publishers' distribution model.
