Provista Life Sciences Hires In-House Physician to Administer Breast Cancer Test

Patients Can Now Contact Provista Life Sciences Directly to Receive BT Test

PHOENIX, AZ--(Marketwire - July 16, 2008) - Provista Life Sciences LLC (PLS), a diagnostic development and commercialization company, today announced that Christa Corn, M.D. has signed on to serve as its resident physician for the BT Test, a blood test for the early detection of breast cancer. With Dr. Corn in this role, women will now be able to receive the BT Test directly through Provista Life Sciences, instead of waiting for an appointment and prescription from their personal physician.

"Dr. Corn is one of the preeminent breast surgeons in Phoenix and we are thrilled to have her on board to help us offer patients easier access to the BT Test," said William Gartner, CEO of Provista Life Sciences. "By having an in-house physician, Provista Life Sciences is able to reach a greater number of women -- including those whose doctors do not yet have experience with the test, or offer it in their offices."

Patients interested in receiving the BT Test directly though Provista Life Sciences can download a prescription form online and then go to any one of the laboratory locations listed on the form for the blood draw. The sample is then sent to Provista Diagnostics, the laboratory arm of Provista Life Sciences, to be analyzed, after which, Dr. Corn will review the results. If the sample is returned abnormal, Dr. Corn will personally contact the patient to discuss the results.

"As a surgeon and breast-health advocate, I embrace every opportunity to offer women a fighting chance against this devastating disease," said Dr. Corn. "Early detection of breast cancer offers the best chance for survival, and, in conjunction with a mammogram, the BT Test is an excellent tool to help ensure that the patient is receiving the most thorough diagnostic care."

Women who choose this option are able to take the test at their discretion. They do not have to wait for an appointment with their doctor, and do not have a co-pay that often accompanies the visit. The cost of the BT Test is $295 for patients paying out-of-pocket and $395 for those who want Provista Life Sciences to file insurance claims on their behalf. Test results are received within 10-14 business days.

Dr. Corn has more than 15 years of experience as a general surgeon, specializing in breast surgery. She also currently serves as a member of the Chief Scientific Advisory Board for Provista Life Sciences, where she lends her medical expertise to support the ongoing goal of continued scientific and medical research.
