PRSA Silicon Valley Announces Hands-on Executive Media Training

Participants Will Learn How to Master the Media Interview in a Unique Two-Hour Workshop

SILICON VALLEY, CA--(Marketwire - March 19, 2008) - Executives who want to hone their media interview skills will have an opportunity to engage in a hands-on training workshop with some of the brightest minds in media on Friday, March 28 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cooley Café in Palo Alto.

The session is an opportunity for communications professionals to send their executives for advanced coaching on interacting with the media. The workshop will begin with an overview of tips and best practices from Steve Yoder, Wall Street Journal bureau chief. Following Yoder's presentation, participants will receive hands-on training from Jeff Braun, former CBS News broadcast correspondent, and Jon Greer, former print journalist for the SF Chronicle and Mercury News. Braun and Greer have more than 20 years' experience coaching CEOs and industry leaders in effective interviewing. They will discuss:

--  Handling the really tough questions
--  Tips for effective for phone, in-person and video interviews
--  Transparency - how much to reveal and when to stop talking
--  How to prepare messages, drive the interview and stay on message
--  Building relationships and becoming a valued industry source
--  What to do and say in a crisis situation
--  What to do if you are misquoted or misrepresented
    

The workshop is hosted by the Public Relations Society of America's Silicon Valley chapter (http://www.siliconprsa.org).

The cost for this session is $49 for PRSA-SV members, $59 for PRSA-SV partners and $69 for non-members, which includes lunch. The cost for similar media training opportunities can run as high as $250.
