Psion Teklogix Completes Portfolio With New Small Frame, Large Feature Set Vehicle-Mount Computer

New 8515 Vehicle-Mount Computer Ideal For Vehicles with Limited Mounting Options

HANNOVER, GERMANY--(CCNMatthews - March 15, 2007) - At CeBIT 2007 in Hannover, Germany, Psion Teklogix (LSE:PON), a global provider of solutions for mobile computing, wireless data collection, imaging and RFID, unveiled its 8515 Vehicle-Mount computer - a full-featured computer that comes in a compact, lightweight frame, ideal for vehicles with limited mounting options.

Completing Psion Teklogix' family of rugged Vehicle-Mount computers, the new 8515 packs a powerful feature set that can be deployed in many industrial environments. The computer provides top functionality whether on a forklift in a warehouse or a port, or as a stationary terminal on a fixed mount application such as a shop floor data collection centre.

With its small footprint, the 8515 provides maximum unobstructed visibility for forklift operators without compromising durability, yet features a sharp 640 by 480 full-screen VGA color display that supports virtually any application. The bright, touch-sensitive display is readable in most lighting conditions.

The Windows Embedded CE 5 based 8515 comes with XScale processor, 802.11 technologies and Bluetooth. It is also equipped with a full PC style alphanumeric keyboard and 10 dedicated function keys, allowing for flexible and accurate data entry.

Serial RS232, two USB host ports and one USB device port allow easy connection to a large range of peripherals such as bar code scanners, printers and RFID readers by using cost efficient standard connectors.

The 8515 offers unique, optional features such as Psion Teklogix Mobile Control Center (MCC). MCC software enables the deployment and ongoing management of mobile devices and their peripherals remotely and securely. The 8515 also provides a speaker/microphone to support convenient push-to-talk technology that together with PTX Connect, a platform that enables rich multimedia communications, replace a Walkie-Talkie by using Voice-Over-IP technology.

"The 8515 offers an ideal combination of technology performance and cost, all in a small form factor Vehicle-Mount computer with exceptional functionality," said Rob Vandervecht, vice-president, marketing at Psion Teklogix. "Its versatility makes this computer a smart choice for gaining efficiencies across multiple supply chain applications."

The 8515 is the latest addition to Psion Teklogix' Windows-based family of Vehicle-Mount computers. Teaming up the 8515 with the 8525 and 8530, and the recently-introduced 8580 and 8590 family of Vehicle-Mount computers, Psion Teklogix provides customers with the power to choose the computer that best fits their needs.

The 8515 is available to customers starting May 2007 through Psion Teklogix' global sales offices and value-added resellers.
