PSS Systems Makes Two Key Executive Additions

Engineering, Marketing Vice Presidents Join as Changes to Federal Rules of Civil Procedure Drive Strong Company Growth

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- February 7, 2007 -- PSS Systems, the leader in legal holds and retention management solutions, has appointed Rafael Gonzalez Caloni to be Vice President of Marketing, and Pierre Raynaud-Richard as Vice President of Engineering.

Gonzalez Caloni will be responsible for all aspects of marketing. His background representing leading financial institutions and industrial corporations in complex corporate and securities litigation gives Gonzalez Caloni unique insight into the challenges posed by mounting regulatory demands for legal holds and retention. In addition, Gonzalez Caloni has spent over 15 years understanding and serving the needs of corporate clients both as an enterprise software executive and as a strategic management consultant.

Raynaud-Richard is a seasoned technology executive who has led engineering strategy and product delivery for numerous generations of diverse technologies and products, from operating systems to complex, 7x24-capable applications relied on by tens of millions of users worldwide. He has spent his 16-year engineering career managing teams of up to 200 developers, located across global development centers to bring world class products to customers. His experience ranges from company launch to M&A, IPO, turnaround and even through complex IP litigation.

"Building customer trust and confidence requires the highest standards of execution excellence combined with genuine subject matter credibility; winning in business requires the smartest, fastest team," said Deidre Paknad, President and CEO of PSS Systems. "Rafael and Pierre have distinguished themselves in each of these dimensions over their careers. I'm pleased to add them to an excellent management team at a time when our market, customer base, and leadership are rapidly expanding. Together, they significantly increase our ability to lead the market with our Atlas legal holds and retention management software."

Gonzalez Caloni holds a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School and practiced corporate litigation with Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison. He joins PSS Systems from Vendavo, where, as Vice President of Marketing, he led the company's marketing efforts from market entry and signing its first clients through the company's rapid growth, and engaged actively with prospects and partners, including SAP and Accenture. At Calico Commerce, he was Senior Director of Market Development and served as part of the core team that managed the company through its acquisition by PeopleSoft. As a consultant with McKinsey & Company and with Andersen Consulting, Gonzalez Caloni worked with financial services, telecommunications, oil and gas, industrial, government and other clients in Europe and Latin America.

"I've spent my career understanding, articulating and addressing the complex needs of large organizations -- as a litigator, strategy consultant and marketer," said Gonzalez Caloni. "PSS Systems allows me to fully leverage my expertise in a very dynamic market where it has established a substantial early lead with its unparalleled roster of clients and first of a kind Atlas solution."

Raynaud-Richard joins PSS from Openwave, where he was Vice President of Engineering and led several worldwide engineering and product teams during his tenure. At Openwave, his products touched tens of millions of end users worldwide in a 7x24 environment. Prior to Openwave, he was Vice President of Engineering R&D at PalmSource, where he led the transformation and modernization of the PalmOS architecture. He also held the VP of Engineering post at technology innovator Be Incorporated, where he worked from 1995 to 2001 when it was acquired by Palm. He graduated from Ecole Polytechnique de Paris, one of the world's most selective and prestigious technology universities, and from Ecole Nationale Superieure des Telecommunications in France.

"I know through my firsthand experience with complex IP litigation that the challenges of preservation and the opportunities to more strategically manage information are tremendous," said Raynaud-Richard. "PSS Systems has established clear solution leadership and I'm very pleased to join this excellent team to continue to build advantage and value for our customers on a larger scale."
