PSVillage Releases Its 2016 Professional Services Industry Benchmark

Latest Benchmark Reports Solid Year for Technology Professional Services Organizations (PSO) With Increases in Headcount and Revenues

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwired - Jan 26, 2016) - PSVillage announced the results of its latest survey of professional service providers throughout the world, available in the PSVillage 2016 Professional Services Industry Benchmark. PSVillage is a global community serving technology professional services and consulting leaders.

Unique in the industry, the benchmark provides specific performance comparisons in human resources, finance and operations, supported with more than 100 metrics specific to each performance category. The benchmark highlights year-over-year performance comparisons in addition to drill-down filtering capability for peer-to-peer or company-to-company comparison. In addition, because the benchmark is dynamic and continually updated with ongoing survey responses, subscribers receive online, unlimited access to current KPI data, providing essentially real-time access to real-time information.

Selected 2016 Benchmark highlights include:

  • Revenues in companies of all sizes have increased, with 30% of companies reporting more than a 25% increase.
  • Headcount is also up, with 18% of companies reporting more than a 25% increase.
  • PSOs are reporting average net profit margins of 14.6%.
  • Salaries have remained flat.

"I find the PSVillage Benchmark with its on-demand data access extremely useful, both for resource planning and for insights in how to adjust or justify a particular aspect of our business," said Mindy M. O'Toole, division vice president and general manager, national accounts, ADP. "For example, I can see if other companies of our size are experiencing greater margins or increased billable rates. This helps me make my case to senior management or adjust my staffing, accordingly."

"In our business, our talent is everything. Making sure we have all the data points we need to stay competitive and lead in the battle for talent, in addition to our obligations for financial performance including margins, is critical. The PSVillage Benchmark Study and online access is extremely valuable for managing our talent and financial strategies," said Todd Nelson, vice president of global delivery, Ultimate Software.

The benchmark and its companion online access tool enable on-demand access to survey results and aggregated metrics for each of the primary focus categories. For example, subscribers can access 19 different roles for human resource data within management, sales support, operations and service delivery. Comprehensive compensation and billing rate metrics are provided for each of these roles, including closely held factors such as average base salary, target bonus, target billable utilization and billable rate per hour. Instead of a voluminous report, the information is presented in 12 intuitive charts with aggregated information, each of which can be filtered by geography, company revenue, professional services revenue, professional services headcount, and delivery model. The online access tool enables users to filter aggregated data by company size, geography, industry, software delivery model (e.g. On-Premise, SaaS, Hosted) and revenue.

This high quality data is generated by a vetted and growing group of professional services executives who are pre-screened for active professional services management responsibility with profit/loss oversight.

Unlimited online access to the continually updated survey is available for $695 for 30-day access and $795 for 1 year of access. The benchmark is supported by PSVillage sponsor Tenrox by Upland.
