PTGI Announces Accella Cloud VC Video Conferencing Solution in Australia: Delivering More Flexible, Decentralized & Cost Effective Solution

Primus Telecom Demonstrates New Product at National Broadcast Network's Mainland Launch in Armidale, New South Wales in Australia

MCLEAN, VA--(Marketwire - May 18, 2011) - Primus Telecommunications Group, Incorporated (PTGi) (OTCBB: PMUG) today reported that its Australian subsidiary, Primus Telecom has announced its new hosted video conferencing solution, Accella Cloud VC, with a live video conferencing demonstration at the National Broadband Network (NBN) mainland launch in Armidale, New South Wales.

"With the growing demand for video conferencing Primus wanted to offer customers a solution that leveraged the innovation of the cloud to offer superior value and performance. Designed to slash upfront investment costs, Accella Cloud VC moves the expensive 'smarts' out of the office and into the cloud, delivering a more flexible, decentralized and cost effective video conferencing solution," said Andrew Sims, Primus General Manager, Marketing and Products, who attended the NBN launch.

"This new cloud video conferencing format will deliver all the quality without the expense or compatibility problems of the traditional model. We've kept costs to a set monthly fee and, importantly, we are end point agnostic, so can work with different cameras in different locations."

Additional collaboration features can include Q&As, polling sessions and the ability to share documents such as PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets and software applications. Meetings can be scheduled and managed via the Accella Video Cloud portal or Microsoft Outlook integration.

Accella Cloud VC will be available in four packages ranging from executive level to a high specification package with dual 46" screens and an HD Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) camera. All packages are hardware inclusive.

Although Accella Cloud VC will be available as a bundled solution, Sims explained that the flexibility of the system means it can also be tailored to the demands of a specific environment.

"Primus' Accella Cloud VC is a powerful and flexible conferencing solution that adapts to your visual communication needs. Whether you are looking for a simple video desktop system, a boardroom solution or a whole video conferencing network, by evaluating and understanding your communication requirements, we will be able to provide you with an end-to-end solution -- including equipment, infrastructure and connectivity -- that suits your organisation," he explained.

In a traditional video conferencing (VC) model the hardware for different cameras is sometimes incompatible, making many video meetings unviable.

"It also takes the pressure off an organization's headquarters to always coordinate meetings. The Primus cloud based video conferencing system allows the connection of two or multiple video end-points into a single video conference. The video conference can be hosted from any of the sites, decentralizing control, reducing bandwidth pressure and making meetings much simpler to arrange," Sims added.
