Public Relations Veteran Joel Richman Joins SHIFT Communications' Boston Office as VP

Brings Strong History of Integrated Social and Traditional PR Campaigns to Growing Practice

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - Jun 1, 2011) - SHIFT Communications, a marketing agency that lives at the intersection of traditional communications and social media, has brought on public relations industry veteran and early social media adopter Joel Richman as a vice president in the firm's Boston office. Richman's history of devising creative, integrated social and traditional communications campaigns and crisis experience deepens SHIFT's digital expertise.

Richman brings more than 13 years of public relations, marketing and social media experience to his new role at SHIFT. His background includes work across a number of industries and verticals in spaces such as emerging media, interactive advertising and media measurement, search, enterprise software, software as a service (SasS), Open Source, telecomm and wireless and consumer-focused technologies.

Prior to joining SHIFT, Richman was a vice president at fama PR. Before that, he built his career in technology and social media PR during an 11 year tenure with PAN Communications, where he helped develop the firm's social media practice. Richman went on to become PAN's first Director of Social Media and was responsible for service offerings including SEO/SEM, new media analysis, corporate and industry blogging platforms, digital channel visibility, content development and viral marketing techniques which engaged client audiences on deeper levels and drove leads.

Richman graduated from Northeastern University with a B.S. in Journalism, concentrating in PR. He resides in Boxborough, MA with his wife Andrea and two daughters. When not online, he enjoys mountain and road biking, fishing, and exploring new and interesting Web applications.
