Public Servants Recognized for Excellence Through Prestigious Award


OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - June 14, 2016) - Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat

In recognition of their significant contributions, 238 public servants have been selected as recipients of the 2016 Public Service Award of Excellence. The prestigious award is given annually in various categories, including Employee Innovation, Excellence in Citizen-Focused Service Delivery, Scientific Contribution, and Exemplary Contribution Under Extraordinary Circumstances.

-Recipients for the 2016 awards have excelled in a wide range of fields, from using robotics to improve health care in the North, to better protecting our food and water from pathogen contamination, to supporting efforts to welcome 25,000 Syrian refugees into Canada.

-The award is non-monetary, and recipients are announced during National Public Service Week. The recipients will receive their awards at a ceremony in the fall.
